This “Hands-on Learning Course” is based on real experiences in the field. It is designed to complement existing theory-based courses in the social protection field to enable social protection practitioners working in social safety nets to improve decision-making and program processes to raise the quality of social protection initiatives, in this case of the SWF.

Our course used real-life experiences from projects in Malawi, Nigeria and Lesotho to connect theory and practice. The main objectives of this workshop were to:

  1. Update and raise awareness among counterpart staff about design and implementation options to operate Social Safety Nets.
  2. Present the new project design proposal to be implemented.
  3. Get feedback from counterpart staff about the improvements proposed for the Cash Transfer Program of the SWF.

During these two weeks, the course was executed successfully and remarkable comments and feedback were provided. Now the next step to be taken by Ayala Consulting’s team in Yemen is to make adjustments to the design proposal and deliver the final version of the document to the SWF.
